The Scottish Government granted consent for BLACK ROCK Hydro Scheme in December 2008. The scheme is on the lower catchment of the River Glass, adjacent to BLACK ROCK Gorge in Evanton, Ross-shire.

New hydro project gets go-ahead
A new hydro scheme designed to supply electricity to thousands of homes has been given the go-ahead by the Scottish Government. RWE npower's project is planned for BLACK ROCK near Evanton in Ross-shire.
