North Hoyle is the UKs first major offshore wind farm and represents a major milestone in the UKs drive towards cleaner sources of power. Built in 2003, the project is now fully operational and produces enough clean, green electricity each year to meet the needs of approximately 40,000 homes.

Britain is only just beginning to exploit its vast resources of offshore wind
Ten years later, the countrys first truly offshore wind farm was built at NORTH HOYLE in Liverpool Bay, 6km from the coast of North Wales.

NORTH HOYLE Keeps On Giving
RWE Innogy UK has started the next round of the NORTH HOYLE Offshore Wind Farm Community Fund, awarding nine local groups and charities with grants totalling over GBP 20,000.

NORTH HOYLE Offshore Wind Farm is Wales' first offshore wind farm, and the UK's first major offshore renewable power project. Situated in Liverpool Bay, it commenced operation in 2003.
