Wave Hub is a grid-connected offshore facility in South West England for the large scale testing of technologies that generate electricity from the power of the waves. It holds a 25 year lease of 8 sq km of sea bed connected to the grid by a 11/33kv subsea cable.

WAVE HUB in Cornwall gets first energy device
A wave energy firm has agreed to install the first device at the WAVE HUB off the north Cornwall coast. Irish firm Ocean Energy expects to deploy a full-scale device at the Hayle hub by the end of 2012.

Marine licence sought for first WAVE HUB deployment
Cork-based Ocean Energy has asked the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) for permission to deploy its 9 million OE Buoy wave energy converter at WAVE HUB, around 10 miles off the north coast of Cornwall in South West England.
FabTest will enable developers to cost-effectively trial wave energy devices in Falmouth Bay, prior to linking up to WAVE HUB off the county's shore.

Cornwall's WAVE HUB energy project 'is going ahead'
The 42m WAVE HUB project off the coast of Hayle in Cornwall will go ahead as planned.

Offshore contractor appointed for WAVE HUB
Offshore support firm CTC Marine has won a 7 million contract to handle the installation of a 25 kilometre armoured subsea cable at Cornish marine testing centre, WAVE HUB.
