River E has a catchment of approximately 16km2 and extracts water from the River E at an intake which feeds an 800mm diameter glass reinforced plastic (GRP) buried pipeline, approximately 4km long, to a powerhouse located close to the River E, approximately 1km upstream of its outfall to Loch Mhor.
The twin jet horizontally shafterd Pelton turbine has a capacity of 3MW utilising a head of 287m.
